Dear Friends,

The WikiEducator User Page Expo <http://wikieducator.org/UPE> ("UPE" to its
friends) is an ongoing event to acknowledge WikiEducator user pages that
are particularly informative, innovative, visually appealing, or otherwise
just plain clever.

We are happy to announce the winner for September 2014. He is Akash
Agarwal. Lets learn more about his achievements and work done for
WikiEducator Community!!

Akash Agarwal <http://wikieducator.org/User:Akash_Agarwal> is a third year
student at IIIT Hyderabad, India pursuing B.Tech + MS in Computer Science
and Engineering. His association with OERu <http://OERu.org> and
WikiEducator has been due to his desire to contribute to the Open Source
Movemet and thus as part of 2014 Google Summer of Code
<https://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/homepage/google/gsoc2014> he took the
initiative to work on a Peer Evaluation
<http://wikieducator.org/Peer_Evaluation> project. He believes in bringing
change to the conventional education systems. He noted that millions of
aspirants appear for entrance examination for Engineering Courses and only
a select can get admission to the top tier universities. Observing many
such aspirants to Engineering Courses, he felt the need for making
education to be open and collaborative (rather than being competitive and
only accessible by a few people). As a result he started working on a Peer
Evaluation <http://wikieducator.org/Peer_Evaluation> project for
WikiEducator as a part of Google Summer of Code. WikiEducator Peer
Evaluation is a minimalistic tool that can be used for student/learner peer
review and self evaluation. It can be integrated to wiki content or can be
used as a standalone tool. Please visit Peer Evaluation
<http://wikieducator.org/Peer_Evaluation> project page to understand more
about it.

Please join us in congratulating Akash
<http://wikieducator.org/User:Akash_Agarwal> for being UPE winner for
September 2014!
with best wishes,

Dr. Nellie Deutsch <http://wikieducator.org/User:Nelliemuller> and Ramesh
Sharma <http://wikieducator.org/User:Rcsharma>
