Education leaders, practitioners and agency officials convened for the NZ
National Symposium on Open
Education<http://wikieducator.org/Otago_Polytechnic/National_Symposium_on_Open_Education>
in
Wellington on 8 November 2012.

This landmark event brought together representatives from the compulsory
school and tertiary sectors to commence work on "proposals for action" at a
national level for harnessing the potential of open education approaches
for the benefit of the formal education sector in New Zealand*.*

We have released a summary report of the
symposium<http://wikieducator.org/Otago_Polytechnic/National_Symposium_on_Open_Education/Symposium_report>
which
you can access online. The draft proposals for
action<http://wikieducator.org/Otago_Polytechnic/National_Symposium_on_Open_Education/Proposals_for_action>
identified
by the symposium participants will now be developed and refined openly and
transparently in the wiki.

I share this news because all resources for the National Symposium were
designed for reuse. Openly licensed, the NZOpenEd resources and agenda can
be reused, modified and improved for replicating similar events at
regional, state and national levels in your own jurisdictions.

Let's build open education futures for all nations!
